HUTCH INFORMATION
This is Mythical's Mini Me VM buck peeking out his nest box. Anyway here is some information on a cage I am building right now without the nest boxes.
MATERIALS:
6 8ft 2x4's $18.00
6 8ft 8 1/2in 2x4's $18.00
2in Drywall Screws $ 6.47
1 1/4in drywall screws $ 6.47
2 8ftx4ft 5/8in Plywood $46.00
2 sets of Hinges $ 8.00
2 sets of bolts $ 8.00
1/4 in wire $15.00
1/2 Gallon of water sealer $10.00
GRAND TOTAL $135.00 PLUS TAX
This cage is being sold for $260.00 without nest boxes. It will stand 4ft 5in tall in front and and 4ft 3in tall in back. The bottom of the cage will be 2 1/2ft off the ground. The length is 5ft 11in long. It is a double hutch giving the inside of both cages a 17in x 15in plywood door, and 2ft tall, be 30in deep and 34 1/2in wide.
Now if you were to add the nest boxes you are looking at another sheet of plywood but this one being 3/4in and those sheets sell for $26.00. Plus 4 more sets of hinges, and 4 sets of window bolt locks. That right there is another $58.00 in just material not including labor. So a cage this size would probably go for $350.00.
If you are at all interested in ordering a cage let me know the size and if you want a single or double hutch. A single hutch can be easily moved, but a double hutch gets pretty heavy. So as with the one I am in the process of making, I will put the frame and wire on, divider and doors, then will assemble the roof and back on site of its new home. Go to my contact page for my contact information. Thanks so much.
Aww the cage is finished as you can see below. I have pictures of each step I made through building the cage. I hope you like them and soon I will have a picture of the back when I go back to their house. Kind of forgot that one. I hope you enjoy and like the cage.
